The ski resort is temporarily closed from 28 February to 15 March

Narvik Ski Resort will be closed for regular operations from 28 February to 15 March due to the FIS Junior Alpine World Ski Championships.

The resort will be handed over to the Championship Organising Committee on Saturday 28 February. From that date, all slopes and T-bar lifts will be closed to the public and reserved exclusively for the event and related activities.

We have previously communicated plans to keep parts of the resort open to regular guests during the championship period. Due to delays in ongoing construction work, and out of consideration for safety, logistics, and the successful execution of the event, we unfortunately do not have the opportunity to implement this solution. The opening of the new Panorama Slope has therefore been postponed until next season.

The following facilities will remain available from 28 February to 15 March:

  • Children’s Area and Kalvetråkket: 10:00–16:30

  • Ski Shop: 10:00–16:30

  • Fjellheis Restaurant: 10:00–16:30

  • Gondola: 10:00–16:30 (sightseeing only, no skiing). Athletes, teams, and support staff will have priority access.

  • Basecamp Reception Bar: 11:00–01:00

  • Camp Lodge:

    • Saturday: 11:00–19:00 (après-ski 16:00–19:00)

    • Sunday: 11:00–16:00

Pre-booked groups and cruise guests with gondola and restaurant reservations will be accommodated as planned during this period.

As compensation to all season pass holders, we will extend the current season with four additional days of spring skiing, from 27 to 30 April. In addition, season passes for next season will be offered at the same favourable price as this year. All season pass holders will receive further information by email during the summer.

We fully understand that the closure may cause inconvenience. However, this is a special season, marked by both a major championship and extensive development work. The ongoing upgrades form an important part of our preparations towards the 2029 World Championships and will create lasting value — both for the sport, for all other guests, and for a sustainable and robust operation of the resort in the years ahead.
